Who participates?
Participants in the exhibition at ‘Istanbul Design Week 2006′ were, Aslı Kıyak İngin (product: Dome), Aylin Gümüşoğlu (product: Pink Towers), Batuhan Yüce (products: Flanş, Buckle, Natural Gas, Segment Circles), Burcu Aksoy (product:Pie), Cem Yücel (products: ‘Mandrake’ Aplique, ‘Steam Cooker’ Table Lamb), Deniz Tunç (product: Cage), Murad Babadağ (product: Recycle 01), Nejat Çınar (products: Light Shower, Question Mark), Oğuz Ayata (product: Iron bed head with a bench), Sabahattin Emir (product: Mine Hanger) and Tardu Kuman (product: Mesh Lighting).
The panel discussions during the ‘Istanbul Design Week 2006′ brought together the views of different disciplines on the subject and the experiences from the region. The first panel discusiion was “Different views on the small scale production regions within the city center”. Aysim türkmen was the moderator and the speakers were Korhan Gümüş, Murat Güvenç, Pelin Tan and Teike Asselbergs. The second panel discussion was “The production – design relationship, the network experiences on urban scale”. Aslı Kıyak İngin was the moderator. The speakers were Cem Yücel, Cevdet Turgut, Hülya Çelik Pabuçcuoğlu, Kunter Şekercioğlu and Oğuz Ayata.

Artist Anna Sala incorporated Şişhane in her ‘Istanbul Map’ project
ITU Industrial Design Department in Istanbul gave an assignment to her Masters of design management students
Design Lab of the Gerrit Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam worked with design students to produce small ’gifts’ in and for the district.
